Raamons describes itself as ‘the best pizza this side of Naples’ – no truer axiom could emerge to encapsulate this fine establishment! Travelling down from Brisbane, I have visited Raamons’ on several occasions, and it never ceases to deliver. I have tried all pizzas on the menu – they all suffice, but in particular, the bacon and cheese/ capricciosa is sensational. This place has elements of a bygone era, but that is its greatest charm, the sense of nostalgia one gets when visiting. Unfortunately, nowadays, this is somewhat lost in the pizza industry, it is full of inner-city trendy, hip, cardboard pizzas which fail to do justice to the culinary history of Italy. Frequent Raamons, it is simply the best!
Travelling to Ballina for the weekend from Brisbane and we wanted to try out a local. Raamon’s pizza did not disappoint. The booths take you back to the hay days which is missing in all these new hipster joints everyone is so accustomed to these days. The amazing service with a smile along with the great tasting pizza’s will definitely have us return again. We had the Mexican and meat lovers. Both had full flavours and the base was amazing.
