The interior decor was lovely and the service we had was friendly. We tried the dishes – Spanish meatballs were average, salted cod croquette was way too salty. Our seafood main was also very salty and I’d recommend you order some bread to go with it. The prawns in the main were cooked well (unlike some mentioned in other reviews) however the mussels tasted stale.Alegrias was part of dimmi 50% off restaurant month. I enjoyed the atmosphere and service but the food did not impress.

The service was the most off-putting part of the experience. Our server never once smiled at us, the closest we got was a grimace. However, it did not go unnoticed that he smiled at other non-Asian customers so that’s always a pleasant surprise.Asides from the attitude we received, the food was okay. For the dimmi’s deal for half price on the whole menu, the food was pretty affordable but not amazing. We ordered:Tapas:Mushroom croquettes: lacking any mushroom taste whatsoever, tasted more like flour than fungiGarlic prawn tapa: the prawns were nicely cookedFried potatos: like wedges, the sauce it came with was nice but the dish itself was not spectacularZucchini flowers: okay, a little bitterMainsSeafood paella: this definitely was a big serving even though it was for two (we’re glad we didn’t listen to the server who strongly recommended we get it for three people because we were really full at this point). Despite being a generous portion, it was honestly very salty and the prawns were really overcooked :(Seafood main (soup with various seafood such as fish, prawns, mussels etc.): again, the soup was very salty but the prawns were better for this dish.It was an okay experience, service aside but would not come back again, even if it was still half price.

Service here is really, really friendly which is nice to have. We ordered a couple of tapas (patatas bravas, mushroom croquettes, empanadillas and the prawns) and they were all pretty good, specially the empanadillas, I would have this over and over again. I was craving paella and although the size was good and the ingredients were well cooked, it was lacking in flavour compared to other places where I’ve had paella.

I have visited this place once not too long ago for a little birthday. As Im not a seafood eater, I did miss out on those amazing paella dishes everyone else ordered! Foods quite nice but very small, and expensive for its portion. Inside ambience is very Spanish which is great to feel the cuisine type, defiantly a place to book in advance. Service was hard to flag someone down which is very frustrating especially when it gets busy. Im not sure if I would return but it was pleasant for that one time.
