Very popular coffee shop still going strong in Balmain. Service is top notch. Really good range of sweets and meals. Panini are amazing and a must to try. Coffee is also nice and strong just the way I like it.
A local favourite with many more than just me. Decent strong coffee, trad menu and the occasional import for Papas. If the Baked Ricotta cheesecake is on the bench grab yourself a slice. Welcoming and friendly is most always what you can expect, along with a reason to linger.
About the only cafe in Balmain, wait, make that Sydney, that is open after 3pm on a Sunday. And we are all the luckier for it. You’ll find friendly, down to earth service and a good range of food and drinks.
Coffee shop that was pumping with customers this Saturday morning. Selling croissants, sandwiches, sweets and a bbq out front. Very busy but also pretty fast. We got coffees; the latte was a nice rich flavour and I enjoyed it. aroundtheclockfoodie.com
A little disappointed. They no longer have the lasagne burger! I wanted to experience the hype, but I guess that cannot be. I have lived in Balmain and have never eaten here before. Now that I’ve moved out of Balmain, it’s funny, I take the time to come here and see what it’s all about. The cafe is only small, few seating, and two long tables for sharing. This place seems to be quite a bit with this hip Balmain crowd. Their lunch menu was quite limited, which can be a good thing when you cannot decide. After all… I decided to try their lasagne and my eating buddy went for their classic burger. According to my eating buddy, the burger meat was juicy and tender. Bun, soft and fresh. He gobbled in down fairly quickly. A true testament to the taste. As for the lasagne, I felt lacked some taste but was ok, but portions were quite generous. I couldn’t finish all of it. I don’t know… I’ve given this place a shot and I can’t see what all the hype is about. The food was good, the atmostphere was ok, but you can find thus in any caf. At the end of the day, I can say that, I’ve been there and done that. I have to say though, before I end this post, I didn’t try their coffee, and maybe that’s the one thing that brings the customers back. Who knows.
I didn’t know what to expect when I ordered the lasagne burger and my oh my what aheart attack in the making. In my head I was imagining a lasagne sandwiched by buns, not a beef patty sandwiched by deep fried lasagne. It would have easily fed two people. Flavour-wise it was what you would expect from a lasagne, however the beef patty was slightly dry.
I had a decaf, almond milk latte made by Claudia and it was amazing! Usually people don’t know how to make them well but I definitely would recommend this place!
