We had a party for my daughter at the Cat and Fiddle. Ben the manager and his staff were only too happy to help make this night a success.They arranged for an area of the Garden room for our exclusive use. The food was great.All our guests had a great time.Ben and his team had only been managing the place for a week, but there was nothing that was too much trouble for them to arange.(just a bit of background – the previous management has not told Ben about booking so we were an unexpected party. They did miracles to make the night work)

Third stop on the Balmain pub tour (temporarily derailed by Xmas and associated good times). My Balmain pub guide extraordinaire had told me that they did an amazing cod pie, and having been hand reared on fish pie, I was here post haste. The cod and leek pie is rather good – nice pastry generously filled with plenty of filling and accompanied by a really good salad – but at $24 it should be! These prices seem high to me, which has brought down the overall mark. Will likely be back for fish pie again – the dining buddy was very taken by it – but unlikely to be doing it on a regular basis. I can just get so much good Asian food for that price…
Bit mixed on this one. The main I had was delicious (sweet potato ravioli on pea pure) but the dessert (mars bar mousse cake) was pretty average albeit presented well. The decor is nice but the tables aren’t comfortable. The service in the restaurant area is also pretty average. Menu is limited but most things seemed well executed. Solid pub food and reasonable value for money.
Disappointing!On arrival Saturday at 5.30 was told the place was fully booked!!its great to have functions. But The locals eat there all week!! And are the heart and soul of your Business!
