Wonderful service. We had an impromptu gathering to celebrate my daughters engagement and the staff, food and service were all fabulous. Thanks to the team at Dicks who were working on 3rd Jan. We will be back soon
A great pub ruined. If this pub had gone to the dogs any more there’d be Pal on the bar and excrement in every corner. And that would still be better than the food the new management is fishing up. Overpriced undersized crap barely covers it. This used to be a place with decent kids meals, a great burger and good beer. It’s now got beer. And nothing else. What a shameful waste of the goodwill the owners paid good money for and are now kissing goodbye to. Idiots.
Pub food is an understatement
So It’s Not Just a Clever Name?. Really torn here as to whether I voted ‘Liked’ or ‘Disliked’ here. The things to like about this pub are fabulous. I have loved the service shown here by the bartenders, I have loved the individualised treatment you can get when they are not too busy, and I love that they are truly a sports bar and will show the AFL if you ask politely but… I won’t eat here again. The kitchen staff- including the staff taking the orders out back, are surly, unhelpful, and do possibly the most pathetic parma I have ever laid eyes on. (Seriously- this thing was the size of a Pepsi can for $22.) I know things can get pumping and I know BOH is a tough place to be but some dining expereinces are bad because of an off night- this place makes no apologies for consistently lackluster grub. Next time I am eating elsewhere and drinking here.
Great for Sport. This is a great pub. Caters really well for families as well.I went there for the AFL grand final. The place was heaving. The bar staff were busy but helpful.Since then ive been back for some great pub grub. Specifically, the steaks, the $12 on monday and Ive had the sirloin. Both excellent value for money.I can recommend the trivia too. The guy who does it is a funny bastard. Tuesday nights now I think – he’s hilarious.The TAB is good too – all in all a great old fashioned Balmain PUB!!!!
Arrogant staff, crap food. Soggy pizza and chips, typical pub gub but grubbier!Awful service, bar staff love themselves. Lucky the isn’t a mirror behind the bar, would be too distracting for them. Do dicks employ actors slash models? I think not.
