This cafe is the best value for money in balmain with generous servings and equally good brekkie and lunch options. The staff are friendly and if you are lucky grab a table where you watch the crowd go by on darling street. The coffee also gets a tick – all in all everything you could ask for from your local cafe.

Not a bad place to enjoy a weekend breakfast or brunch, and an all-day breakfast menu is always a winner. For something lighter, went for the fruit salad with yoghurt and granola rather than a big fry-up. Hit the spot.

Ordered a tandoori chicken wrap and a freshly squeezed juice (watermelon, pineapple, mint). Price was average and the food was decent. The chicken was very tasty and was given a good portion of it. Service was lovely and quick!

Our little family of four went for a quick lunch on weekend. My husband was greatly disappointed with his chicken schnitzel – the mash was lumpy, the chicken was poorly seasoned and the side salad poor and limp – a pub schnitzel would’ve been 100 times better. My chicken burger was better. Smoothies were good – just don’t order the schnitzel

Always good for brunch or breakfast. Lovely spot, overlooking busy Darling St.Coffee rich and quick.Bacon & egg roll pretty good, but ditch the tomato and lettuce – it’s not a hamburger. Also would’ve been better on a brioche bun.Pancakes with berries also pretty nice, but pancakes not light and fluffy, but very dense and doughy. I’ve seen softer hockey pucks.Authentic teapot and cup for the green tea, juice fresh, and kids milkshakes ok. Hash browns definitely store bought, and bacon just ordinary bacon – nothing fancy here.Gourmet treats are now pretty much de rigueur, and I worry this place still thinks it’s the 90’s. Time for a menu/ingredient/approach refresh me thinks.

Standard and traditional caf fare, good coffee and quick, professional service with a smile. Conservative Balmain cliental seemed to enjoy it.

Really love it at fundamentals, a cheaper alternative to the other Cafes throughout Balmain. Coffee is alright and the food is good. The husband and wife that own it are very nice and they always deliver exceptional service. I have to recommend the chicken and avo melt! An absolute delight with a side of chips.
