The Riverview has been written about a LOT, so here is my contribution:I think the friendly owner/friendly guy behind the bar may have mentioned that it’s a converted house. It’s situated on a corner and has a cheery red door, and I’ve been there 3 times in 3 months :)One of the main attractions for me is Guinness on tap. The other is the Sunday roast (it changes every week, so ask what the meat on offer is before you order). The Yorkshire pudding is just pure pleasure, and I say this as a meat fiend. I had to drag myself away from it to focus on the roast pork.Another recommendation are the pizzas. I’ve only had the Chook on Fire so far, but will definitely return to sample the others. Oooh, and before I forget, the bread and butter pudding with mead custard and butterscotch ice cream. Get yourself some of that!

The Riverview Hotel has a quaint upstairs dining room with flower planter boxes hanging from the window. I order the Riverine Scotch Fillet steak with king brown mushrooms and spinach, cheese and potato puree with whisky jus. It was the best steak I have eaten in years and the best pub steak ever. The meat was so tender and perfectly cooked medium rare it felt apart in your mouth. It was nicely matched with the mushrooms and potato puree. The service was attentive, answered any questions and perfect timing between courses. I would definitely recommend and I will be back.

We dined here and decided to eat downstairs in the pub area. I ordered the salmon with lemon risotto and my partner ordered the steak with truffle butter and chips. Our dishes were a 10/10! So delicious, cooked well and looked great on the plate. I think this is my newest local pub.

After walking around Balmain dropped into the Riverview to try out their lunch menu. Decided on the Riverine Burger with Bacon, Beet, Tomato Relish & Chipotle Mayo on Black Ash Bun and fries was a real winner. One of the best burgers I’ve had for a while and well worth the $20. The soft shell crab burger was also delicious and we left the hotel well satisfied. Keen to try their evening menu if the food is of the same high quality.

Lovely foods and services made me feel like home. We had a really hard time choosing from the menu; everything looked so inviting and delicious. They do have special deals on pizza every now and then and all of them are awesome
