Last Friday went to the Cottage for a date night and unfortunately the place was packed and we were sat next to a huge table. As a result, my partner and I were overlooked for majority of the evening. Notwithstanding the length of time since our order was taken, the staff were understanding when my partner sent back the beef rib because it was insanely salty. Whilst he was given a pizza and the ribs were comped, I had finished my meal by the time his pizza arrived which was disjointed. We had prawns and oysters to start. The prawns were delicious but the oysters had saltwater in them with a hideous vinaigrette/ginger oil. I ordered the pork which was served with vanilla in the puree. As such, the dish was waaay too sweet and rich. By the end I felt sick. The cocktails were nice and next time I would just come for the drinks, but not the food.
The Cottage is beautiful little house transformed in a cute restaurant bar. They selection of wine is really good (From AUS/NZ/FRA..) Their cheese platter is well served with 4 types of cheese. The atmosphere is really nice, you just feel like home.
