We came at 7.30 and almost all the hot food buffet was out, did not refill the whole night. Same with the skewers, very limited options. The BBQ plate was broken so staff BBQ the skewers for you which is not as fun as doing it yourself. 9pm they told us kitchen was close therefore they couldnt not cook anymore skewers for us, but they stopped cooking since 7.30 as no food was refill. They clean up at everything even before 9pm even through it state that they dont close till 10pm. So disappointing!!! They even empty the rubbish bin in the middle of the shop where the food was, making it smelly and unhygienic. I couldnt get out of there fast enough. Theres place in Chinatown in the CBD that does the same as here but much better for a few dollars more.
staffs were really friendly and accommodating. A waiter came to us and explained what sauce goes with the skewers without us asking, appreciate that. The beef from hot food bar was really good and tasty. Only i wish they could add more desserts, rather than just watermelon n orange. But overall, was a good experience.
Visited Kushi charcoal skewer buffet for lunch for an unlimited time, not like dinner with 90minutes. The lunch buffet costed $25pp instead of $28pp because they had no charcoal for the grill. Instead of cooking the skewers ourselves, the workers cooked it for us instead which was good. The marinated skewers were okay. It would be better if there were spices like cumin and sauces like gochujang or doenjang as the skewers tasted plain. Wanted more variety for the dessert bar as it only had watermelon and oranges. The hot food was alright. On a side note, it would be better if they changed plates for hygiene purposes as the same plate was used for the raw skewers and the cooked skewers.
A Korean owned Japanese style Kushiyaki (Skewer & Grilled) restaurant. They use an automatic rotary skewer machine to grill the food. Very impressive as Ive never visited any bbq restaurants having that system. Great for lazy people but you really have to watch the food not getting overcooked as they have cut the meat into fairly tiny pieces, the meat can easily overcook & dry out, which was the downside of it. The cut of the meat (beef especially) wasnt using the prime cut so they were a bit chewy & not tender. They have an Oden bar with assorted fish cakes, fish balls & tofu skin etc in two different broth. (Spicy & non spicy) The skewers were all a bit bland, seasoning was needed when making them. Their salad was quite good using fresh ingredients, I quite enjoyed their potato salad & pumpkin mash. They also offer hot food for dinner, but it was nothing to brag about. Wish they include some desserts on top of the boring fruits, orange & watermelon. Excellent customer service, the staff was quick & friendly. Its lovely for some fun dining but if you are after authentic Japanese style Yakitori restaurant, you will be disappointed.
A disappointing experience. Sure, the rotation skewer machine was innovative and different, but other than that, truly lacking. The selection was extremely limited, i.e. fried chicken, chips, some noodles and frozen fish balls, and the skewers. There were perhaps a variety of 18 different skewers, half of them being vegetables. The price was also definitely unjustified. ($39/pp)
Unlimited meat and hot food at affordable price was awesome! The automated skewer machine was interesting and the ambiance was their unique charm. Above all, I loved the beef and lamb skewers which are also unlimited!! I prefer weekdays given the cheaper price and no time limit. Recommendable and will visit again with my mates.
A fun dining experience with its machine meat skewer turning thing but other than the novelty of that, the food itself lacks. The meat whilst abundant was not particular good quality with tough cuts of beef and lamb. The hot foods were good with the fried chicken and sushi but were not refilled quick enough. The fish cake soup was also good with the sides. The staff were also nice, paying attention to the cleanup of the tables.Overall the main attraction and price of $38 should of been the meat, however the meat itself lacks very much so that a second visit will not be necessary as the sides really helped carry the dining experience .
