Ordered a flat white with full cream milk and one sugar. Coffee was not as good compared to dukes in Melbourne. Its still very smooth but watered down and overly sweet.. the ratio of whatever makes dukes so good in Melbourne was just not there. Love dukes. So disappointed
The desserts are nice here however the hot chocolate was cold and the chai latte was very bland. How disappointing! The staff are nice and friendly enough though. Probably wouldn’t go back there.
The cafe offers a limited food offer, came in for breakfast and wanted to order eggs but they do not have them on their menu. The nice lady at the counter suggested their avocado on toast. It was yummy, even thou it was a bit over loaded with spices. The coffee is nice and smooth, got a cup of single origin black brew. overall nice experience
These guys really know their way trough coffee!got there on a (super) busy morning. Despite the line was solid it only took me a couple of minutes to get to order. The Italian Lady at the till was bubbly, helpful and polite in explaining the different beans and techniques. The food menu offered healthy options for breakfast such quinoa salad and smashed avo. Both me and my guest were impressed with the smooth and elaborate texture of our coffees. These guys do not offer table service, but once you order and pick a table, water will be served, food and coffee will come to you and the staff will check on you to ensure everything is A ok.Definitely worth a try.
Ok so the coffee is excellent. Like really good (says ex-melburnian). But the service is atrocious. It’s a shame that these pesky customers get in the way of making really good coffee. I suspect the staffs favourite part of the day is just before opening when they make each other coffees without worrying about customers. Be interesting to see how long they last – my host at PwC rolled her eyes when I mentioned it – clearly on the nose!!
Another coffee specialists joins the competitive Barangaroo caffeine scene. South by Dukes is in Tower One, right opposite The Canteen. All coffees are served as a double shot by default, even the regular sizes; a regular cap starts at $4. I found the flavour to be strong as expected for a double shot.
