The meal on Saturday evening was very good, from the mixed entrée to our choices of sizzling seafood platter and my ricotta/ mushroom stuffed chicken breast – the sauce was divine! Not too pricey as is BYO. Only criticism was that the rice accompanying the seafood dish was additional cost of $2.50 to the meal ($27.90) – should be included.
Never dissapoints.
Confusing Menu. I’ve been to Vanilla Bean a few times. Some dishes are ok, but I’ve had a couple that I really didn’t think much of. The bruschetta is long strips of tomato soaked (like really soaked) in balsamic vinegar on soggy bread pieces. Their creamy chicken & prawn pasta is quite bland and just tastes fattening rather than indulgent. I’m not sure if this is just because their menu is so ‘multicultural’ and these dishes aren’t their specialty. I just think they should leave them off the menu completely if that is the case. That said, the massaman curry is pretty good and a very large serving. Overall, the prices seem pretty steep for the mediocre food provided.
