I come here once a year only because it’s local and I got the entertainment voucher that gives me 25% off and I’m too lazy to go further to get a Thai meal. The food is average. We ordered the soft shell crab in tamarind sauce, chicken cashew stir fry and beef in chilli basil. Every dish would have tasted much better if they weren’t so sweet. It was sickly sweet. Soft shell crab dish $28 was a little pricey compared to other Thai restaurants around the area.
One of my favorite Thai restaurant in the hills area. not super but good in a urban suburb. reasonable price for the food quality and taste. Recommend curry duck, pad see wee and BBQ pork.
Bad experience…ordered home delivery, lady who took our order over phone was rude, order took over an hour to be delivered (supposed to take 45mins) and we were delivered chicken instead of prawns but still charged for prawns. Chicken was tough, chewy and sinewy – I cant understand how you can stuff up cooking chicken but these guys have made it possible. Its not an authentic thai flavour, feels like its been cooked by chinese chefs. Rang them about the overcharge and lady said she didn’t know how to do a refund and would take it off our next order, which will not be possible as we will never order from here again.
The food was definitely a let down. I ordered the Pad See Ew and it was out in literally less than 5 minutes. The flavour was average, the chicken had the hard bits still attached and there were virtually no vegetables except 2 pieces of carrot despite the description saying mixed vegetables. Will never eat here again.
What stood out for me was the decor in that it is not the standard restaurant furniture – they have large comfy chairs and solid tables. Also there is homely feel about this restaurant which appears to be a family business with a matriarch and the children working there. The food was good. I don’t think our choices were particularly good but I would would be interested to visit again and try some other dishes.
Good food with Friends. I have been twice to Money Bags at Baulkham Hills and the food good.My platelet says go again and that is the only proof I need.I love walking into a small restaurant with simple decor, to me that also says all welcome have a good time. The staff are friendly even when they get busy.Third visit will be after another friend returns from O/S.
We have been getting Thai from money bags for yrs now. I heard they cater for allergies. My son has coeliac disease and cannot eat gluten which are in a lot of the sauces they use. They said they have a lot of customers that need to eat a gluten free diet so they just change it accordingly we have never had a problem. Love this place!
