Love this place. Its like stepping back in time, the place is filled with memorabilia of years gone by.And the ice cream is absolutely first rate. My favourite was the Wang Dang Doodle which is like a hokey pokey on steroids – caramel, chunks of violet crumble etc. The chocolate and vanilla are great options as well. As you can imagine, the kids loved it just as much as us!Tip – ask for half half so you can get more variety per scoop. Friendly country service with a smile.
Bellingen is consistently hot and humid. Coming to the rescue is beautiful, smooth and creamy gelato from the Bellingen Gelato Bar. The Ferrero is the best I’ve ever had, as is the Rum and Raisin and also the pistachio. There are interesting flavours such as zabaglione which is an Italian masala gelato that is strong and distinct. The addition of almonds to the coffee ice cream is perfect. Dare I say it, Bellingen Gelato Bar outdoes Sydney icon Messina for me, any day.
