Outstanding! Every course was a delight. Beautifully presented on the plate and flavours amazing. Just when you didn’t think it could get better, we had the ‘deconstructed’ cream brûlée, I’m still dreaming about!
Sensational culinary experience. No. 2 Oak Street is set in one of Bellingen’s classic timber cottages and boasts a cosy fireplace for those cold winter nights. Worthy of its two hats, this magnificent restaurant is by far the best in the region. Yes, it is pricey but the exceptional food and service are worth it.The service is very personable from the moment you step through the door. Wait staff are very friendly and welcoming. For starters we recommend the lovely fresh warm Potted Bread with butter, tomato salsa and garlic oil, also goes well with the complimentary olives. Other delicious entrees include the Sydney Rock Oysters, Braised pork belly and the Seared scallops. For mains we love the Crispy skin twice braised duck leg. The house made Potato gnocchi is also very good. The Cheese platter is really special, particularly with a matched dessert wine. The Warm layered apple cake and Baked honey and citrus custard desserts are delicious. The presentation of all dishes is just immaculate.We recommend ordering matched wines with your meal. Not only are the wines of the highest quality, the wait staffs knowledge in this area is outstanding. We have dined at No 2 Oak St twice and will be going back a third time very soon. For a more intimate experience we recommend going mid-week to avoid the crowds. We have always had a wonderful memorable experience.
