Pasta wins over pizza by a fair margin Our penne boscailoa was nice while the pizzas are average at best, they just didn’t have much taste and I didn’t like the base Service is good, prices expensive for what you get! But the place is packed on a Friday night, you better book

Came on opening night. Pretty much Flame with a new name. Few teething issues. Somehow kids’ orders missed getting from our table to the kitchen causing delay. Manager gave us free gelato as an apology.Food was ok but pricey for a club.

Had a great dinner here and that’s a few now. The seafood plate was ok but the 400g steak with two sauces and chips was incredible!! Service was great, waiter did a great job all night. Desert menu can use many more options is my only loss of points

Firstly i have to say, theres a girl who works here that is probably the best waitress i have ever met, she was so lovely and helpful, she really was great. I was a bit upset they ran out of the stuffed chicken but there was other menu items i wanted to try so it wasn’t too bad. Everything we ordered was full of taste and flavor. It tasted fresh and didn’t make us feel sick afterwards. We will definitely be coming back to try the chicken and hope to be served by that lovely girl again. ***update***We went back to try the stuffed chicken and it was absolutely amazing, definitely reccommend!!!

I never expect much from restaurants in clubs – I’m content with somewhere to sit & chat without getting too jostled or hassled, & food that’s edible and not too much of a rip off for what it is. I’ve been to every restaurant/bistro/cafe in Bankstown Sports, Canterbury Leagues & clubs in between, & this NYD at Flame Pizza and Grill was a pleasant surprise. – It’s quiet, unhurried, & you can hear yourself talk. It’s a nice space – more like a hotel dining room than a club, & the tables outside are great on a fine day.- We were a big table with people arriving at different times & the wait staff are plentiful & efficient & attentive. The bar staff weren’t all the most experienced but were helpful & friendly. – The shared mezze plates were excellent – just dips, olives, feta, but really good quality & more-ish. The one for a few $$ more with fried haloumi & octopus is worth getting too, if you like those – The pizzas weren’t that good, though no worse than average pub/club pizzas- The mains varied. Salmon fillet was ordinary, like you’d cook yourself. The shish kebabs were the best, they were a huge amount of meat on a vertical hanging skewer over pita & dip & fatoush. I had the chicken which was tasty & well marinated. There’s also the usual choice of steaks. I wouldn’t go too far off the beaten track here.- We got several different coffees & everyone remarked how good they were – flavourful & well-made, not at all like the usual Leagues Club coffee. Flame is more expensive than the bistro, but for a special family occasion it’s well worth the difference in cost for the better food & the much better service & surroundings. I’d certainly come again.

I was invited by a family friend and Club member to sample Flame Grille restaurant’s new Spring menu recently. We were not disappointed. After enjoying a drink at the adjacent cosy lounge area we proceeded to the dining room. We met the lovely head chef Kamahl and then proceeded to sample and enjoy the magnificent range of courses that followed.Firstly tasty Mezze plates (the hummus was the best I’ve ever tasted) and a fresh Goats feta salad with picked beetroot and roast butternut pumpkin. The 2nd course followed. My favourite was Spanish style chicken with chorizo with tomato and white beans. However the Fresh figs wrapped in prosciutto with gorgonzola sauce and the Fried calamari with green onion and ginger salsa were equally delicious.Next course Mains. Wild mushroom risotto with truffle oil was perfect cooked, creamy and flavoursome. Berkshire (free range) pork belly with apple and rhubarb chutney was crispy on the outside and tender and tasty inside. Victorian lamb cutlets were tender with a lovely flavour. Only disappointment here was the accompanying mashed potato which was a little too salty for my palate. There was also a choice of 2 pizzas and these were surprisingly good for a Club. Traditional Italian crust and nice combination of toppings ie Grilled lamb with feta and tzatziki, the other choice was Baked prawn and feta with chilli and aged balsamic glaze. By this stage we could only sample a thin sliver of pizza! The desserts samples were a definite highlight. My fave was the Dark chocolate hazelnut pudding, light and chocolaty without being too sweet and served with a tangy blood orange gelato. Heaven. The other choices we tasted a little of was a Frozen coconut yogurt with a sweet potato sauce-fresh and not too heavy. Lastly a deconstructed baked peach cheesecake. Yum.All meals were served promptly by polite and pleasant wait staff.Just to add, it is important that vegetarian and gluten free options are catered for these days. May we suggest a vegetarian 2nd course gluten free option.Overall we could not fault the meals and table staff at the Flame restaurant within Canterbury Leagues Club.

Wonderful venue. Love the food here. We always order the seafood platter (you would be crazy if you don’t). Becoming a member gives you a discount which is a bonus. We also tried the meat skewer which was a tad over cooked but overall nice.
