Seriously overpriced for what it offers, with indifferent service. The spelt pasta was slow in coming and cold when it arrived, and the flavours were dull. At $34 you expect a lot more.

It pains me that I have to write this review and rate it. The experience from the start was terrible the staff are not professional and does not understand basic hospitality and customer service!! I cannot believe they still have their jobs where the heck is the owner?! The lady at the front was rude and not interested in serving Customers like a real business! The place was queuing with people to be seated but to be refused, even though there was empty tables inside that still had the previous plates or empty tables outside that the lady said it would be really hot to sit at. Yes the tables are hot and attract the sun and there’s no awning. But does it really matter at the end of the day its the Customers decision if they want to sit out there! Again, if it was a real business it should of invested in better outdoor tables and an awning to maximise business! All the wait staff was running around like it was busy, but this place doesn’t even seat many how would they have handle a full house?! Food was sooo expensive for what it was but surprising it actually tasted good and was of high quality! The menu is so small and prices are really ridiculous! Its unfortunate as this place could have potential! Guess they can charge and treat everyone like that as really its the only place to eat in there! Would not recommend this place at all and would not visit it again! The 1.5 rating is only for the actual food itself and that’s it!
Tomah Gardens is a gorgeous cosy restaurant I hold good memories of. Perched atop one of the higher points of the Botanic Gardens, its a pretty spot to treat yourself after an earthly explore. I’ve found the service a little missing from time to time, and I think staff expect commitment to a long lunch with big meals for all, which isn’t always the case. I suspect there are also in the same boat who do not know the restaurant exists, pack some snacks for the visit and then decides later to pop in for a coffee and cake. In winter, the restaurant is beautiful and warm inside, and it often gets windy out on the deck. Otherwise, in the warmer months pick a spot outside to overlook the grounds. The coffee is actually pretty reasonable here, and I’ve experienced of the best, simplest asparagus and broad bean salads I will not forget. The menu is a little higher end, and although to some extent there is value here, I can understand most of the market here won’t see that. crumbs-au.com
We only had Tea and Scones here, perhaps a little expensive we didn’t mind too much because we supposed it goes toward the up keep of the botanic gardens which are free to visit. The Blue berry scones were delicious and great Tea too. Nil problems with the service.
We really enjoyed our lunch at Tomah’s garden. It was a gorgeous sunny winter afternoon…. The food was delicious and the view was amazing! The service could have been a little better but it didn’t detract from our delightful experience!
The garden was great to walk around in and explore before and after our meal. When we arrived, the waitress seemed annoyed that customers walked in and was quite unfriendly. We were seated outside and had a fantastic view of the garden.Pros: the garden.Cons: overpriced food, really unsatisfactorily. The entree, mains and desserts were all beyond average. Extremely disappointed given the high expectations we had after reading the info on their website.
