Ethiopian food is next big thing! And this place, along with Aaboll cafe although now closed, does Ethiopian the justice it deserves! Menu is a little outdated and… secretive! My mate and I got in, considered the ultimate combination that was $75, the owner and chef (who was very friendly) said it will be too much for two people. He gave us the picture menu and suggested a platter. AND IT WAS A TOP PLATTER! There was the standard injeras, beef/tibs, lamb shank, doro wot or chicken stew, two lentil dishes, two vegetable dishes and a potato dish. We had to get take away but it didn’t matter. Highly recommend this place! Shall be back!
We ordered the siga wot (chicken) and doro wot (beef). Unfortunately, I believe we were given the incorrect order – instead of chicken we were given another mystery meat (beef??). Presentation of the food was good, with generous portion-sizes. We couldn’t finish the two dishes between the two of us and there was plenty of injera left.Overall, the food tasted fine but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again.
super duper generous portions (just take a look at the photo – that was for TWO people )! the stews are good, the injera is good the service is good. nothing to complain about.
Finally had an excellent Ethiopian food in the whole of Sydney. We tried their Veg platter and it was just as what we were expecting. It was a casual cafe like place. I would just expect some more cleanliness if i would like to dine in there the next time. After Adelaide (which i would rank 5 on 5) this was the next best Ethiopian food we have ever had.
