Ordered a pie and burger. Pie was a pot pie of runny gravy with a limp undercooked piece of frozen puff pastry on top. Chips were floury and tasted slightly stale. The burger had a burnt turkish roll as a bun. Worst of all, the tomato sauce had expired some time ago and was fermenting.
Canteen style food. Seems like nothing is made fresh in-house. Seems like they buy frozen and re-heated/re-cooked. Nice staff. Only passing through. Fancied some pub grub.
The food was delicious, I had a beef burger and it was one of the best burgers I have ever had. The beer was pretty good too, and you can sit by a cozy fire place! Also they accept credit cards at the bar, no need to have cash on you! I really liked this place
Thankfully, probably because it was just after 6 pm and still fairly early, our order came within 15 minutes. At this hour, the place was still quiet — figuratively. The interior was super noisy even though the place wasn’t even half-full, and the deck was cigarette-smokey. It was a choice between noise or smoke and flies, and I chose the latter.
