A great day spent at The Beach Road Hotel with some friends for a birthday. Great atmosphere and great crowd. I havent been here for a few years and wow has it changed.. This is now the place to go in Bondi. Wednesday/Saturday evening they have awesome DJs upstairs which are FREE…. Great chance to have a drink and a boogie without paying to get in the front door. Just get there early as the line tends to start early evening.
Beach road Hotel has undergone a recent renovation and is boasting some pretty sweet features for Sydney siders to enjoy. There are multiple sections to the hotel to cater for what ever mood you may be in. The bottom floor is comprised of the pub kitchen and dining area, the bar and dining area, the pool table and game section and an outdoor courtyard. Upstairs you can find Bar Luca burgers as well as a few dancing areas with varying music.The vibe is always lively and with floor to ceiling windows and big open doors all around, its very fresh as well, not like a dim lit pub feel. The drinks are reasonably priced and the service is good as well. The food is not on the cheap side considering it is pub style, but in saying that, it is more up market pub food. The dishes have a lot of variety and taste great. We have had the wings which are really nice, the steak, the Caesar salad and many more. The fried chicken burger gets a special mention because it was actually really awesome!

Had a really disappointing night here recently. We went down to check out the trivia and it is so unbelievably bad it is comical. The trivia MC couldn’t even pronounce ‘astrologists’ so he got a guy in the audience to read out the questions for him. He then proceeded to pick on the poor guy all night… Food was ok… Nothing to rave about. The advertised specials (fajitas) weren’t available on the night either because they weren’t selling enough of them….
Not sure why I’m paying $30 for a crappy piece of meat and packet veggies. Not good. Clearly catering for people who are too tanked to know what they’re eating. The kitchen either needs to order more quality produce, or the prices need to halved. Doesn’t matter either way as we won’t be back.
