Im a huge lover of Japanese food, especially sashimi with jap flavors, and this place exceeded my expectations! I live in Bondi and cant believe I never tried this place! We also got a wagyu beef hot rock which was great however the rock cooled down quickly so when we flipped the meat it didnt cook all the way through. Staff is polite and attentive!

Last night our dear friends introduced us to an array of dishes available at Soy. As a party of 5 we could order up big and explore the raw and the cooked. I loved the popcorn shrimp roll: anything fried or sweet is always fine by me. Those crunchy prawn morsels were delicious. The miso eggplant was a standout too. Soft, creamy chunks of eggplant topped with a sweet miso sauce. The spinach salad also had a sweet paste, so these sweet dishes balanced nicely with the sashimi, kingfish and tofu. We had a couple of carafes of sake along with 9 plates of food: $36 per person including a tip. That was pretty amazing. The only downfall was the noise. When the restaurant is full as it was last night, on top of that din was the music. Not nice ambient music but loud Doof- doof! You have got to be kidding! We were sitting really close to each other but had to shout to be heard and even then I was constantly saying what did you say?. Do something about the music, like dont have any.
