Had a client based close by in Bondi and stumbled upon this place for lunch with a colleague. Decided to try the coffee, and was surprised by the cheap $3 cappuccino they served. Service was quiet good, the staff would take initiative in the morning to hold a conversation (especially on those morning work days) which was a plus.Found the coffee quite good, though nothing amazing. Would recommend if in Bondi, and needing a quick, cheap coffee. I heard the pastries were good too… But perhaps another time!

This is a little place in bondi junction mall selling different types of pastys; large and small. Curry, vegetable, and interesting flavours too. I got a small lamb and mint one. The bottom of the pastry is quite thick, so I would personally prefer a bit thinner. They are freshly cooked, nice and hot and the flavour is good. They also sell sweet style pastys too, that they can heat up. You can get a coffee too, if you like. aroundtheclockfoodie.com

I’m hardly in bondi so this was an exciting food opportunity! I got the large traditional cornish pasty! The pastry:filling ratio was 60:40, and the filling was quite dry but on the plus side that did make it easy to eat on the go. The pastry was salty at the beginning, not sure if its supposed to be like that. 2.5 stars for the convenience, crispy pastry, and good value for its size. I’m curious to try some of the other flavours now.

Pastry is flakey and buttery good! Beef and Ale Cornish had chunks of beef, you could taste the ale too. Definitely a place to go to when in the area.

Takes me right back to my childhood. I’ve always walked past this place and never really got the chance to try it, so today I thought I’d give it a go. It’s pretty small inside and not so roomy, so we decided to sit in the outside area. The place smelt amazing when we entered, however. A tip for ordering: get whatever is coming out of the oven. It’s worth the short wait, and it means your pasty will be hot, fresh and flaky. I got the Cornish pasty fresh from the oven. It was very hot and fresh and I did burn my mouth on it, but it was worth it and went very nicely with some tomato sauce. I think the pasty could’ve been a bit better had the swede-meat-potato ratio been a bit more even (lots of swede but not much potato or meat) but I liked that they kept it traditional with swede. Nice peppery flavour to the pasty too. The prices weren’t too bad either, considering the size of the pasties. I’ll be back!

Pasty heaven plus. Had passed by this place in the Bondi Junction mall many times but never stopped by. Had a read on the website so Part 3 of the Bondi Junction wander. Other than the traditional cornish pasty, there are plenty of other options available – both regular size and smaller size. I chose a small cheese, potato and bacon pastie. I ate it on the commute home and have to say I regretted not buying the bigger one. It was top notch and for once, wasn’t boiling coming out of the warmer so was readily edible. I bought the regular traditional Cornish pastie which I had later. Have to say it evoked all the great memories of good pasties I’ve eaten when I was younger (and leaner). The only issue I’ve never been a big fan of swede which is part of the traditional recipe. Anyway, the pastie didn’t last long so thumbs up. Need to go back and try some of the other varieties. Staff serving were really friendly.

Warm Bakey. On a nippy morning, it was a welcome experience to be at Cousin Jacks. It was just comforting to bite into the pastry, baked to a dark brown solid colour. There are so many choices – I appreciated the smaller sized veg pastie but could not resist the much larger big breakkie. Fast service with a friendly approach. Worth checking out at the mall at BJ.
