Located right at one of the main entrances to Westfield Bondi Junction, this cafe can get really busy but there is plenty of seating so you don’t have to wait long. I had breakfast here before it got really busy and tried the berry and ricotta pancakes and baked eggs with chorizo. The dishes were not bad and I think it was too early in the morning for that scoop of icecream with the pancakes.
In a very ‘public’ spot of Bondi Junction westfield, it receives hundreds of people waking past each morning. A bunch of pre made foods like banana breads, yoghurts, croissants, cronuts and savoury muffins to go, or you can sit in and eat. There’s also a large menu of food options to eat in I like that there’s heaps of healthy options to suit the eastern suburbs crowd. Green brekky bowl, veggie board or egg white omelettes to name a few. Lots of sandwiches and salads for lunch. I just went for poached eggs and toast as well as a chai latte for my morning feed. The corn fritters with bacon looked really appealing too! Service was fine, the music was loud though and the girl basically couldn’t hear the order and has to repeat pretty much everything I said. A bit cafe and heaps of space to sit. aroundtheclockfoodie.com
Public Espresso is a good place to get a nice coffee when in Bondi Junction. I got my usual long black and it wasn’t that strong which was disappointing. Although the service was quick despite how busy it was and the food looked quite enjoyable for a quick morning breakfast.
Never have I ever encountered such appalling treatment of customers. Before yesterday, I was a frequent visitor of the public and would visit with friends quite often spending roughly $25 per visit. The food here has never been great but is usually okay for a brunch catch up with the girl. Yesterday, the public had advertised a lunch special, however, did not want to honour the price advertised. After being spoken to like absolute garbage from the woman behind the counter, another member of staff acknowledged that the price on the specials board was correct but the woman behind the counter would still not honour it and just got even more rude. I really couldn’t care about the $3.50 savings, here it all came down to how I was treated and spoken to despite being in the right. I will never visit the public again
I came in here on a cold morning and was happy to see they had quinoa porridge on the board. Unfortunately the meal was very disappointing. Written up as quinoa porridge with poached pears, almonds and almond milk, the ‘porridge’ was essentially a large bowl of quinoa – not quinoa flakes – with no more than half a dozen almonds and large chunks of lightly cooked pears all drowned in almond milk. The pears weren’t poached, so we’re very hard to eat with a spoon, and the quinoa was tasteless and not very appetising for breakfast in its whole grain form. This is one of those meals where you think ‘clearly the chef has never tried this’, and I’m sure it’s probably because some places don’t care about health food options on their menu.I won’t be coming back here for breakfast, I wish I could get my 13 dollars back!
This is a surprising find for a breakfast brunch place next to a shopping mall. The breakfast menu is very tasty and unique – Big Brekky and Breakfast Board in particular. The staffs are friendly and attentive. The coffee was unfortunately a bit of a hit and miss – spot on one day and burnt the next. Recommend that you go during non peak hours.
This Caf was the worst choice me and my husband made over the weekend, we sat down waiting for our food and our drinks came out and the glasses were dirty, the cutlery was dirty and still food attached to the knife. we received our food and it wasn’t that great for the price you pay, way over priced for the quality and size, the smallest burger that my husband got, and then half way through my husbands burger he bit into a piece of glass!!! luckily he didn’t swallow it! wewere not happy about it and we told the staff, the lady who served us came out and put the money for the burgerand muesli bar on our table and apologised, then asked if we are surethey can’t make a new one for him, we would rather not experience that again. When we told the staff the rest of them didn’t seem to be too alarmed by the fact that a customer found a piece of glass in his food. the worst customer service I’ve received and I can not believe that they would not be more aware or that people will still go there. That was not ok and I hope they get inspected cause that is not service.
