Bratwurst Banger : GreatYummy, fat, flavourful Banger topped with sauerkraut and beautifully crisp onions. Bread was a little on the cold, stale side but the sausage itself was good. One day Im going to work up an appetite and try their half-a-meter long hotdog!
The one-handed bratwurst with sauerkraut and fried onion is perfect festival fare and at $10 is a cheap and cheerful way to fill up. A clever self-service sauce station is suspended for easy squeezing.
I had this at their food truck at Circular Quay during Vivid, and unfortunately, it wasn’t that great. I hadn’t heard of them before, or read any reviews, or even been on their website so I actually had no expectations about it, yet I was still disappointed by their food. I read up on them afterwards, and apparently they’d won awards at the Easter Show; perhaps my experience was a one-off.I ordered their Bratwurst, and while it was a good size hot dog, with a good serving of fried (and a little grilled) onions and cheese, the sausage itself was very very pale, and personally, I like my hot dogs a little more grilled, with a little more colour overall. The taste of the hot dog wasn’t very spectacular either, although it was piping hot which was great. But personally I’ve had tastier bratwurst before, and this one tasted more like a regular sausage, or perhaps like a somewhat gourmet sausage from a supermarket at best. The bread was nice and soft, although a little cold, but toppings were good and plentiful though.Service was very normal, friendly and polite, but perhaps a little rushed, but it is a food truck, so it would be expected to a certain degree. I think the price was reasonable on its own, I paid $10 for my hot dog, but because I felt the sausage tasted very regular, I felt a bit disappointed and felt the price didn’t quite match the food.TIP: they have self-serve BBQ sauce, tomato sauce, and mustard in large containers with squeezey nozzles to dispense the sauces; be careful when you use these as it can squirt everywhere and it can be a little hard to aim it right. knifeforknchopsticks.com
Prep your wiener, Berlin bangers go off with an almighty bang! I got to try their German hot dog range at parramatta Winterlight festival and went berserk with wiener power. Flavoursome and topping fueled, you’ll be transported to a little or big bite of Germany.
