One Drop has a nice big airy and bright beer barn hidden away in the back streets of Botany – so hidden that it was unfortunately quiet on a rainy Saturday (edit: only quiet at 1:30, by 3 it was filling up). Good range of beer. The flagship lager was a very flavoursome lager – good but not my style, I instead liked the hoppy and heavy and only slightly fruity pale ales. The prices are good, usually $7-$9 for schooners although the 125mL tasters are a waste at $5+. Food trucks and light meals available. Really good place with good beer, might be a bit remote but it’s fairly close to transport.
Botany is a developing area and is seeing new cafes and shops. This has now extended to a local and independently owned brewery. This micro brewery has opened in Erith St, an industrial area behind the main strip of shops. We went during the first weekend it opened and it has a good vibe about it. Plenty of people having a beer or two, bar snacks and sitting around on the makeshift wooden pallet type seats and tables. It’s family and dog friendly and there’s couple of old school video games to amuse your kids.
