After grabbing an early wave with what felt like the whole of the eastern suburbs I needed a pick me up. I love the Bronte area – and this little cafe stood out to me as I was trekking it back to my car. The cool old decal on the front and a packed morning trade drew me in. Managed to score a table outside and continue my appreciation of the the beach while enjoying my second great love – coffee. It is a strong blend here, but not bitter and hot enough that you feel like you are actually drinking a traditional coffee, not about to throw down a luke warm coffee infused water. I ordered the B.L.A.T, because the new year new me phase always sleeps in until at least 10 on a Saturday. Lightbulb toasted sourdough, crispy bacon, a smokey mayo that tingles the tongue and lightly fried cherry tomatoes. The one thing about this was the amount of lettuce – a little too much that made eating it somewhat harder than it should have been. Other than that this was a great little breakfast joint and honestly the view is stunning. If you are escaping the heat – then head up here. They do a few smoothies and juices as well which may be more your taste in the heat

The Bogey Hole Cafe is a small cafe mainly sprawled along the footpath. Holding spectacular views of Bronte Beach in the summer it is a cute spot to sit and have a coffee. The menu held an array of dishes to pick from however it did not wow us to go back a second time.

Food is nice but service is terrible. Have been a couple of times now and things are forgotten with every order despite repeated requests for that item, service is always slow, or you wait 30+ mins for a coffee, which only arrives eventually after you chase and get a blank look from the waiter. Have given it a second chance as it’s a great location and a nice view, but I won’t bother again. Shame really.

So much potential in this quaint and lovely space but food and service is always a hit and miss. The chilli jam poached eggs with a side of chorizo is always a good choice but the presentation and the quality of dishes vary from week to week. I’ve had breaky here on and off for the last couple of years as simply there are not many options at Bronte serving decent breakfast and always felt that this place could do so much better and more if they pay a little more attention to their menu and the consistency of their dishes. The kitchen is quite stubborn about making changes to the existing menu which I find a bit stuck up especially in the Eastern Suburbs where most kitchens are able to customise to customers’ dietary needs and preferences. Coffee is below par. Wishing one day the owner of this cafe finds the passion and eagerness once again to refresh the menu and raise the bar on the consistency and the quality of dishes and service provided. A lot of cafes by Bronte beach do well just because of the location and lack of options near the beach. This doesn’t mean that you can slack off on what could be an amazing spot for ‘breakfast by the beach’. I haven’t lost hope yet. 3 stars.

Had lunch here with friends and ordered the chicken burger and mashed avocado and salmon brekkie menu. The chicken burgers were surprisingly really nice with all the flavours working together very well. However the toasts in the avocado & salmon dish were so hard my friends had a really hard time eating it. It looked a bit burnt too. Also my friend couldn’t order her eggs fried- only poached. She ordered something from the lunch menu instead. The waitor said it’s because they turned off the grill..but it was only 1pm..

By far the best scrambled eggs in Bronte!! Always with Turkish toast, but watch out they serve all toast with butter unless you ask them not to! Relaxed & casual cafe. Beautiful view of the ocean across the road and usually some outdoor seats available.

Really overpriced. Truly unmemorable food. Incompetent offhand service. The location is the only good thing. Such a waste of a great view…
