I took a group of 10 to Eugenes for lunch. The food was delicious, but the person running the cafe was totally unhelpful about seating us together – she was prepared to push 2 tables together to seat 8, but would not add another small table to set the 10 of us together. She was sour-faced and unbudgeing, and although there was a large table with only 2 people seated at it, she was not prepared to ask if they would mind moving to a small table so that we could sit together. I would go there again for the food, but because of her attitude and lack of people skills will not take a group there again. This was in complete contrast to another nearby restaurant where nothing was too much trouble and our patronage was welcomed and valued.
Some realise nice food with mostly good quality ingredients. The flavours were a bit overdone and this cool vibed place could benefit from simplifying some of the flavours, less salad dressing, more lightly fried corn fritters, etc. will be back, but would love a bit more subtlety in some dishes.
