The big breakfast board included hash browns, eggs, crispy bacon, chorizo, toast, grilled tomato and mushrooms with avocado in a granite mortar and pestle ready to be mashed. It was a big portion and would definitely need to share with someone. The dish was a little oily from the bacon but overall combined with the other ingredients, it was pretty good. The patty melt sandwich is similar to a burger, had cheese and beef inside and was pretty tasty. I personally liked the California grilled Reuben toastie. It was nice and simple with the smoked turkey, pickles in Russian sauce with the gooey melted cheese that combined all the flavours. Curly fries are always good, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the cheese with it. The waffles had an oreo crunch which matched well with the vanilla ice cream. As well, the pancakes were so good, it had a strong red velvet flavour with its thickness in between a crepe and pancake, just enough to not taste too doughy. It’s also exciting to see cafes grow in a technological sense. This cafe appeared to be the first in Sydney that has an HD printer to have your photos printed on your coffee. The service was good, they were friendly and checked up on us about our dishes. The interior of the place had a cozy cafe vibe. I’d definitely go back for the red velvet pancakes and latte.Visit me on Instagram for more daily feeds @juliaxeats.

Toasties at a café? Yes please! It’s odd that this isn’t a mainstream thing yet in most cafes because I’d be coming back over and over just for that platter of sweet and savoury toasties.Thought I’d try something a little bit different with the Kim Chicken Grilled Cheese; Haloumi, Harissa and Honey; and Peanut Butter & Jelly Toasties. The Kim Chicken Grilled Cheese was to die for with a succulent piece of fried chicken at the heart of a kimchi grilled cheese sandwich. Surprisingly not too spicy as you would expect from Kimchi which made this my favourite of the day. The Haloumi, Harissa and Honey Toastie was ooey and gooey with cheese, cheese and more cheese and a bold hit of spice mellowed out by honey for a touch of sweetness. Now I know I’m probably the last person to try PB&J but I’m glad that my first time was at Barista Au Lait! The peanut butter was smooth and creamy and the jam was fruity with a wicked tartness. Chilli curly fries on the middle platform were the perfect accompaniment to the toasties. Great crunch and flavour.Flat white on soy was super rich and it was evident that Barista Au Lait pride quality in their products, sourcing only the finest local ingredients. Red Velvet Latte was also super delicious and had a beautiful red colour.Overall, really great food here and even better customer service! Rahul, one of the business owners did such an amazing job at making me feel welcome and explaining the menu to me. I have no hesitations in recommending this café to anyone and everyone. If you’d like to read more of my reviews, please check out my zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos! My thanks to Barista Au Lait for the invite.
