Update: So on my following visits here, i asked them not to make the base too crispy and they gladly obliged. All goodSwung by 1 early weekday evening to grab pizza from them. Waitress was prepping for dinner trade but happily dropped what she was doing to take my order. Good service. Toppings were generous and tasted alright. Not a big fan of their thin crust though, crispy (bordering on just a little hard), would have preferred thin bases which are a little less dry, more doughy chewy. Matter of personal likes I suppose, not a deal breaker . Open till 2 am everyday..
Mimmo’s isn’t too bad, yes it costs a little bit more without being any special quality, but it’s usually open until 2AM so I’m happy. I’ve been there many times, I’ve never had a burned pizza, and staff have always been genuine and friendly with me and any friends that are with me. I had one problem in the past when I hit an olive seed in a vegetarian pizza… Other than these points, it’s fairly straight forward, which is why Mimmo’s has been successfully running a business for decades.
Great pizza, horrible service. We ordered the pizza over the phone and was told it would be 25 minutes before it was ready for pick up. Knowing Friday night is a buy night for pizza joints, we waited 45 minutes. When we got there, they hadn’t even started our order. When we talked to the staff, the manager was first to respond and he was so rude. He’s acted like this on multiple occasions. Basically, if they changed managers, the whole place would run smoother, and be more inviting for everyone.
The mistake starts from the moment you decide it’s too wet and cold to go out and you order in from Mimmos. Delivery time 1 hour 35 minutes. Pizza arrives cold. Delivery driver talking to him self like a street junkie and not someone I would want at my door late at night. The bill is the interesting part, having ordered a large pizza $15.00 ish off menu and a dessert $5.50 ish off menu the total on the bank statement is $33.00. When you calculate the money I will never again spend at Mimmos, it’s works out to be a significant loss for a one off grab for cash. After 25 years I’ll never be back. Need I bother mentioning the rude woman who answered my call and I assume calculated my invoice.
Okay. Ordered 3 large pizzas over the phone and the lady was very rude and trying to rush our order. When we got the pizzas an hour later 2 of them hadn’t been sliced at all. On top of that the pizzas were greasy and over priced. Won’t be returning.
While the pizza’s are good they are expensive and the owner is rude and arrogant, I have seen him numerous times berate his staff in front of myself and other customers. I have never been able to understand why pizza shops don’t know simple mathematics. Equation: you take off one ingredient e.g. Capsicum and add one such as Pineapple. In my books that means the shop hasn’t added any extra ingredients. Not in the pizza shops it means another two dollars and for what I ask!
For over 25 years still one of the best!!!
