Fabulous Chicken and Bacon Risotto today! The Lime Curd Tart was a great way to finish a really delicious lunch. As usual, the staff were friendly and efficient. This is a delightful place to visit. I highly recommend it.
Fantastic as always. We’ve been here countless times – for breakfasts, lunch, afternoon tea, morning coffee. Its consistently fabulous. We have brought many city friends who wondered how a little country place would compare to their usual city haunts – and have subsequently been blown away. We’ve never had one visitor leave without absolutely raving about Woodworks. The staff are all friendly and lovely, the food is brilliant and the atmosphere gorg. The seats could possibly be more comfy, but thats my only gripe.
Every time I come here I am made to feel welcome, the staff are always friendly and the food is so good! Highly recommend it.
This place is fantastic. Coffee is excellent (nice and strong), staff are friendly and we had a muffin which was a meal in itself. We”ll be coming back.
Friendly service at woodworks mecca. New Years Day seemed a perfect day for a day trip – an idea shared with lots of other Canberrans who visited Bungendore for lunch. After fondling hand-carved wooden treasures in the Woodworks Gallery we stepped through into the adjacent Cafe – which was full to overflowing, even at 2.30pm! Smiling wait staff dodged around tables full of holiday-mood groups and families – we were asked to share a larger table with another couple or to be prepared for a half hour wait. We shared – and were quickly offered drinks and menus, then water glasses and bottle while we perused the menu and took in the walls full of original artworks. My companion was glad we’d arrived after the breakfast menu finished – it reduced our choices to only a page full – eventually we settled on a morroccan lamb burger with handcut wedges and zucchini fritters with salad. Both dishes arrived after a remarkably small wait and were delicious – the patty was spicy and moist; the minted yoghurt and oniony relish were terrific; the salad came with a mild mustard dressing and was substantial enough that more than half of it and two zucchini balls were wrapped up by the staff and taken away with us. The drinks (milkshake and coffee) were delicious too – no burnt beans or milk here folks!Decor: plenty to see on the walls; handmade wooden tables and chairs in the cafe 8/10; serving staff were polite, friendly, informative and smiling; 9/10; food was fresh, creative versions of classic cafe standards 9/10; value for money – excellent 9/10. We’ll be back for more.
