Great food and great price! A bit cheaper than Xi’An Grill for the same fish and flavours. However the service there is terrible (Chinese people who give you attitude and they don’t listen to you the first time you request something). It took more than 15 minutes to get the bill. Good thing about this place is that it opens till 2am on the weekend, great for a midnight feast.
Mediocre Sichuan cuisineThe flavour is alrite 5/10The price is reasonable 8/10The environment is a bit cheesy 4/10The staff is very unfriendly 0/10Overall 2.0/5.0
Highlighted as a midnight restaurant opening until 2am, Charcoal Fish has been the place I go quite frequently after badminton 🙂 You know, at 11:30ish, most places are closing or closed and I believe that every Chinese restaurant is better than Macca’s no matter how bad its food is.It tastes good but salty without rice plus its fish is really small in size 🙁
It was about 11:30pm and saw this placed opened. Only thing I found on the menu was a pork rub casserole. There wasn’t that much meat in this dish. It was more a vegetable casserole with a bit of pork in it. Tasted ok but didn’t satisfy me. I would describe it as a poor rice farmers meal.
Our fish was so small….. And it was expensive! So bye bye charcoal fish!
I heard this place is quite famous for some sort of spicy fish hot pot. However, I decided to order something else since it was my first time trying this type of Chinese cuisine. So this is what I ended up ordering: beef slices drenched in chilli oil, spicy beef noodles, and claypot veggies and prawns. Everything was mildly spicy and extremely delicious. For first timers, make sure you get a nice cold drink on the side because it may be a little bit troublesome for your tummy I will be coming back again for the fish!
