When compared to other similar buffet yakiniku restaurants in Sydney, Ginza doesn’t seem to be quite on par. Their sashimi is good with carpaccio, hokki, chirashi all included at a relatively decent price. Their overall variety is however, quite weak with limited options. Most choices are made with low quality ingredients or are just stomach fillers. The meat selection the biggest let down. The wagyu is extremely low grade and quite tough to chew. The angus rib has decent flavour but the choices do not justify the overall cost. Their smoke extraction system is quite nice and restaurant is clean but there are much better choices around, especially with several new openings over the last year.
There’s not many options for Japanese food in the area. Ginza Yakiniku has some hit and misses. The restaurant building has open roof and is affected by circulation of air in the building. We felt quite cold where we were sitting but when asked if we could change our table, we were told it’s the same at other tables. The ginza special sushi was very nice and I’d recommend this. We also tried the wagyu beef sukiyaki udon, the tonkatsu don, the eel don and the ochazuche (rice with dashi, salmon flakes, seaweed, sesame), but these dishes were all average. When the eel don first came out, the eel was cold like it just came out from the fridge. We asked the waiter and they asked the kitchen to remake. Unfortunately, we’ve had much better elsewhere. Management was apologetic and offered 5% discount.Overall a below average experience and we’d unlikely return. Their sushi and service was good, but the dishes are overpriced and you’re better off to venture elsewhere to satisfy your Japanese good craving.
This place was so good! The meats were of great quality (wagyu platter and wagyu rib meat). Chicken karagee was perfect and the salmon carpaccio was a standout. Highly recommend the melon calpis Soda for a drink!
This was one of the only yakiniku/jbbq restaurants that I have left without smelling of BBQ smell, the ventilation of the place is great and one of the highlights. The food was fresh and delicious. We chose the standard buffet option and the food came out so quickly (even the hot dishes). The staff were very attentive throughout the night. Overall great experience.
Ginza Yakiniku is a buffet styled Japanese BBQ restaurant. Its always enjoyable to have the buffet there. But if thats not your thing, they also have the a la carte menu including fresh sashimi, hotpot and salads. They are also fully licensed, so have some sake to go with your meal.
