The Murray Place Arcade in Burwood has revamped into a themed Chinatown, with noodles, dumplings, waffle puffs and bubble tea stalls. There’s so many new places to try and we’re enamoured, so we hit it off our new Burwood love affair at Hunan Rice Noodles. The Burwood Hotel and the nearby Murray Place Arcade have been in various states of glorious shabbiness over the last few years. Recent renovations have seen the area converted into a themed and stylised Chinatown.

Noodles here are very tasty and different from the usual Chinese noodle houses. The tomato and prok rib soup is unique and a dish I would go back for and the dry noodle was very appetizing too.

First time for me to try this Hunan dish.Venue: Small venue only couple of tables to dine inService:It was quick, fast and friendly Food & Drink:Hunan WontonOne of the best I’ve had, coriander and pork wonton, flavour was sensational and the texture of the wonton, I’ve never taste like this before, cooked, yet there’s some chewiness that make the dish unique.Broth was delicious as well.Special Soy Sauce Pork Ribs Tender braised pork ribs in soy sauce served with rice and bokchoy.I do like it, however wonton is the winner.

It was busy across the hall so walked into this place. Was pleasantly surprised by how tasty my dish was. I had the braised beef with thin rice noodle soup. Packed with flavour and beef was slow cooked and tender.
