I redeemed a Groupon voucher to get a green tea castella cake, which smelled somewhat similar to Chinese steamed Ma Lai Go but these are baked. Therefore, the castella cake was a little dry/overcooked around the edges. It did taste better (softer and less dense) when re-heated briefly but still lacked any distinct green tea flavour. Unfortunately I found a large piece (4mm x 5mm) piece of egg shell in my cake.I personally prefer Uncle Tetsu’s cheesecakes more for their softer texture and stronger flavour.
