We ordered from the lunch specials at Macau Noodle Kitchen, a lot of variety and very reasonably priced. The portion is huge as well. We had the salted vegetable pork noodle soup and the minced chicken with eggplant and fried rice. Taste is ok but the fried rice is not as fragrant as expected. theengineereats.com
We dined here on a Friday night and the service was good! We were greeted upon entry and seated immediately. We ordered the set menu for 3; Veg Spring Rolls, Eggplant with Spicy Mince Hot Pot, Salt & Pepper Calamari, Pork Chop with Black Vinegar, and Rice. We also ordered Deep Fried Bread Stick on top. The food came out pretty quick and hot, except the waitress forgot our Pork Chop dish until we asked about it. The size of the Veg Spring Rolls was small but it was nice. The Salt & Pepper Calamari and Pork Chop with Black Vinegar was really good! The Eggplant with Spicy Mince was okay, I wouldnt order it again as the flavour was abit different. Overall I would visit again but try other dishes as they have a variety of dishes on their menu.
+3 standard points for food+1 great price and big servings-1 food is very average3: its ok, Id go back if I wanted cheap chinese diner style food.Noise level: normalHighlights:$35 for four spring rolls, two mains and rice. Dinner for two!The spring rolls were quite small, but freshly made and very crispy. Satay vermicelli was very flavourful and the beef was tender.Lows:Sweet and sour sauce was so.. fake? It looked like plastic and tasted like white sugar, white vinegar mixed with red colouring, thickened with cornstarch. I know that the sauce on sweet and sour pork is normally kinda like that, but this was especially bad.Or maybe it was the pork, which was probably pre-prepared, reheated / refried, then coated in sauce. Not awful, but not that great either, and this is deep fried fatty pork were talking about here.Suggestions:Everyone seemed to get the steamed fish, and at $35/kg thats not bad! Some of their vege dishes looked great too. Staff were ok, space was clean and well lit.
I’ve only been here once but I loved the food; my only complaint, which sounds counter-intuitive, is that the serving sizes are huge, which makes it hard for us to sample too many dishes. I went with baby Noah and my daughter and her husband, and had to pack more than half the food in takeaway boxes at the end of our meal (to be fair we do get carried away with our orders because I like variety).
