< Singaporean, Malaysian, Chinese cuisine >Off the bat reminds me of Singaporean food court stalls Food: nothing special, generous portions, good to fix hungerDessert: unique, tasty, affordable, from $5.80 egglets to $6.80 strawberry+mango+avocado beverages. Would come again strictly for the desserts and beverages. Mint de Lindt.
I gotta say this below average rating doesnt do this place justice. We have been there twice and liked most of their dishes. Dry laksa and Hainan chicken were delicious. Rendang beef was a tad too salty when we tried but still edible with rice. I also liked the pickles that came with Nasi Lemak, not too sweet as stated by the previous review. The desert – Pandan beancurd beautifully concluded our meal. We had a chat with the owner auntie, whos originally from Singapore. No wonder their menu slightly differed from average Malaysian restaurant. We will definitely come back.
Located in the Emerald Square complex near Burwood Plaza. This is an Asian restaurant dishing up all sorts of delicious items. There should be something to suite most people on there. The drinks menu is quite extensive and they did have egg waffles for dessert (might try it next time). Eyeing off other diners meals, they were quite substantial and definitely wouldnt go hungry here so thumbs up to that. I would say quite good value for money. Service is nice and theyll give you a menu and a paper to write down your order (each item has a specific letter and number combo). We got a Traditional Beef Brisket Served With Egg Noodle (dry) and Chicken Satay Skewers With Rice And Veggie Salad. Both meals were large and flavourful. Brisket was a little fatty in parts but the meat was tender and went well with noodles. The chicken was nicely cooked with a yummy satay sauce. The drinks seemed slightly pricy but they are served in steins I can understand the cost. We had Lychee Tea & Mango Tango. Both were nice and cooling, perfect for the summer weather.
I have been to this restaurant few times and for me, unfortunately hit and miss kind of restaurant. For lunch special, perhaps you can order the hainan chicken. It comes with free drink (actually smaller serving of normal drink size and usually not much flavour). I prefer the set menu for 4, choose the one with barramundi fish & belachan chicken and kang kong. This set menu, suddenly bring their food quality to another level.
Expectations high! It didn’t meet them unfortunately Ordered a few dishes and my char keow Teoy was ok,has a decent amount of prawns in it,but it felt like it was missing something, maybe sum sambal would of been good, the table next to me got sambal but I’m not sure if they asked for it but there portion size looked bigger than mine. My missus beef redang she liked it but found the meat fatty Our friend enjoyed there Crispy skin chicken The chicken satay sticks, they were ok,the sauce is different from other places but didn’t hit the mark either They have this promotion where you like there fb page and you get a free ice cream! We are still trying to figure out what it is but they said matcha but i felt there was lychee too There is plenty on the menu to try, despite a ok experience I’m willing to come back
Nice place for Singapore food and dessert. Foods are delicious and reasonably priced. The portion was good. Tha place is good for two people as well as for hanging out with friends. They were offering free dessert with any food ordered, picture taken and shared on Facebook.
Me and my partner ate here today, and we had been here a couple of times prior. However, today he found a slug in his vegetables in the dry noodles he ordered. It was disgusting. We asked the waiter and he actually said it was a garlic until further inspection, where he ended up taking it back to the kitchen. My partner had no appetite so we were ready to cancel his dessert and leave. They ushered us to sit back down and theyd get us a new dish. By this, they meant, give us a piece of pork cutlet which we hadnt actually touched, whilst the slug was actually found in the vegetable in the noodles. He couldnt actually eat the rest of the noodles where the slug was found, couldnt finish his dessert, we were not offered a replacement dish, and still had to pay the full price for all our meals. Never visiting again.
