This recently opened venue holds 20 seats and been tiny its menu is even tinier! You get a choice of four noodles and some appetiser options. Beef noodle soup in standard and spicy stock.I ordered the later which came with a good serve of noodle, beef and dressed with coriander. The broth was fragrant. Soup mildly spicy and not overly oily. The beef which is cubed is very tender and tasty. Noodles were nice and al dente.

Great food and great price 🙂 I recommend booking a table if you are going on a weekend night as it gets pretty busy. I personally liked the Lamb Cumin, Pork Belly, Chilli Fish and Beef Tripe.
Szechuan offer the more popularised spicy Chinese cuisine but don’t overlook the neighbouring province of Hunan (birth place of chairman Mao). There’s no Szechuan peppercorns used here for a numbing sensation, it’s purely down to chillies for heat. In Sydney there are only a handful of restaurants where you can try the intensely fiery Xiang cuisine from this part of China and Yi Pin Xiang in Burwood is one of them. I may be biased as I’m from Hunan originally but I do commend the authenticity of the flavours here and we do keep coming back. Must try dishes include: steamed barramundi with chopped preserved chillies, Mao style braised pork belly, cumin lamb ribs, stir fried pea sprouts and speck with pickled beans. It’s a neighbourhood casual dining place so don’t expect five star service, however the food and value is fantastic. If you’ve never tried Xiang cuisine I highly recommend at least once. The menu have photos which should help with your selection. Don’t worry… If you can’t handle too much heat then tell the waiter and they can adjust to mild.
