Second time back at Jonsons restaurant during our trip to Byron and the food was yet again spectacular. My partner and I ordered the octopus entree which was accompanied with a beautiful red pesto sauce that was bursting with flavour. Then for main course we ordered the pasta specials, spinach and ricotta cannelloni with mushroom bechamel and the Bucatini all’amatriciana with pancetta and pecorino. Both pasta dishes were generous portions and had my partner scraping the bowl for every last taste. The staff were exceptionally courteous and delivered an impeccable service despite how busy the restaurant was. By far my favourite restaurant in Byron and would highly recommend. Would love a Jonsons restaurant back in Melbourne. Can’t wait to be back!

The fish of the day was fresh and very very good, with a citrus salad on the side that was seasoned just right. My wife’s seafood risotto had a deep seafood taste, very tasty as well.

To say I was disappointed with my breakfast would be an understatement. The interior and vibe of this place was great so I was expecting good things however I was strongly mistaken. First up I ordered a cranberry chai cleanse juice to which I found lipstick marks around the rim of my glass. How that was not picked up by staff baffles me as there was quite a bit of garnish on top of this drink. Secondly after ordering we waited quite a while for our food to come out. Approx half an hour before our food hit the table. I ordered the baked eggs to which I discovered were two fried eggs when put in front of me. My friends dish which was two fried eggs on sourdough never came out until we promoted the waitress. She then waited another 15 minutes for it to come out. When our plates were being cleared and the waitress asked me how the food was I bought to her attention that I was surprised by the presentation of the fried eggs in a ‘baked egg’ dish to which she asked if I had requested that. I told her I hadn’t and she implied it was odd and she would check with her colleague and come back to me to explain the mix up which she never did. Overall the service and food were extremely disappointing and after all of that the only consolation was that they took an orange juice off the bill. I will not be returning to this establishment based on their poor management of multiple issues.
