Very nice Japanese restaurant in the busy streets of Byron Bay. They have an extensive menu and a sushi train so there is a lot of choice! I went for the more fresh options of king fish nigiri and salmon uramaki. The rest of my family had main meals of salmon salad, meat with vegetables and fish of the day. We ended our meal with chicken and vegetable goyza. All of the flavours of each dish were great and definitely recommend visiting this restaurant.

If you can accept that Japanese is expensive in Byron, then kinoko is a good meal option. It is really nothing special, but the limited fish selection is fresh. Forget chef knife skills or Japanese aesthetics. They don’t exist here. However the back kitchen is pretty good, with the highlight being the tempura prawns. Come if you are desperate for Japanese and have cash to throw around.

These people don’t know how to make sushi and sashimi. The chef doesn’t know how to cut sashimi slices properly! There was a sharp fish bone in my sushi roll , I am not coming back to this place.

This was a great menu and also a great place for my 19 month old as I was able to order some healthier options than most other places – he could eat some grilled chicken and skewers and some honey tofu whilst we ordered a yummy sticky seasame encrusted salmons and an array of dishes for the table.

Been to town a few times and always noticed that this place was always full so day 3 we decided to dine here. We went with both the sushi train and hot food option.Sushi train had alot of options. I enjoyed the tuna and chicken sushi roll but not so much the avacado crispy chicken one which was tad too try. The chicken teriyaki was delicious however my hubby found it a bit too sweet. The tofu was way too soggy in the broth so it kind of took away that crunchy skin. The table was very small and tight so was a bit uncomfortable. Service was lovely though!
