Went to Poinciana for dinner on a Saturday night and thought it was lovely. Great food, great service, really friendly and chatty staff, great ambience and live music. The food was amazing and certainly cheaper than Byron for dinner options. Highly recommend and would go back!
Edit: this was a four star review but after renovations dogs are no longer allowed which means I can no longer go to this cafe. This is a real bummer as like many mullumbimbites I have a dog and a child and it was wonderful to be able to have a place to take both of them and get a coffee. I can go there with my dog- they even supply dog bowls, they have good coffee, they have a good brekkie roll, they have friendly smiling service and the prices are competitive- the food is a little expensive so i haven’t been game for a proper meal yet but will do when they re open and I’m feeling flush. All in all- I am perfectly satisfied with my jaunts here.
We left Byron for lunch to find somewhere less touristy and with less touristy prices. This was our first mistake. Food Was overpriced and unsatisfying. $17 for a potato and chorizo quesadilla that was mainly cheese and $21.50 for a halloumi and sweet potato salad with chicken strips. Both were average, well done to Iggy Azaelia for getting out. The rearranged deck chairs on this titanic were the shoestring fries.
