For $13 its a big portion of food. But was disappointed with the main star – the pork chop, and it was overly dry and decent in flavour. Whereas, the bi (shredded pork skin) was a plus, flavoursome and packed with flavour. Will think again before visiting as I prefer my go-to restaurant around the corner.
Love the combo noodle on thick yellow broth, it was something different. So many variations compare to just normal beef and chicken pho. They are kitchen when you can see all the food behind clear glass window.Grill section, where you can see your pork chop is being grilled, giving a nice touch for attractions while your waiting.Try their seafood spring roll, it was a winner!
The food at Bau Truong Cabramatta is consistently good and the menu is pretty extensive; I’ve been a regular ever since it opened. Some of my favourites are the vermicelli salad with beef wrapped in wild pepper leaf, the vermicelli salad with taro and prawn cakes, crispy seafood noodles, durian smoothie, Vietnamese iced coffee, and the beef salad served with prawn crackers. My daughter goes for the crispy chicken with tomato rice. One caveat I’ve found is that the service can be uneven especially if the boss isn’t around; as a matter of fact the last time I went, the waitress wouldn’t let me sit at a table for four for no apparent reason – the restaurant was practically empty – and which I needed to do because I have a severely disabled child who needs assistance so I HAVE to sit next to and not across from him. I walked out and ate somewhere else instead, and frankly I haven’t been back since.
