Good flavours let down by bad staff, rude owners and portion cutting. Third time visiting. Ordered almost 2 hours prior for 6pm pick up and still had to sit there waiting until nearly 6.30 which is not out of the ordinary for this place. Out of two butter chickens ordered only one had any meat in it and it was still light. They actually gave me a whole container of just sauce and then the cook denied it and I was told they were not willing to reimburse me for the one that had no meat as I had requested. Very disappointing as the sauce was actually quite nice. As a local Chef I was appalled at their customer service. Especially when you consider how polite I had been about their ridiculous mistake.
Do not waste your time. There were 3 of us dining in, thought we would try a new indian restaurant, worst mistake. We were seated right away and ordered drinks then ordered our food after 1.5 hours kindly asking the waitress where it was she told us she would check and she notified us that the chef said just another 5 mins… another hour past no food and so starving we told the waitress where was out food the chef then came out and said 2 mins he was just finishing it after he left the kind waitress let us know he was not in fact cooking our meals he hadn’t even started and she was very sorry but wanted us to know the truth because she didn’t want us waiting longer so we paid for our drinks thank her and left, absolutely ridiculous and very unprofessional.
Dont eat here. I use to work here (for a week) the kitchen is very dirty!! The food is cooked and stored in a fridge (looked like it had been there for a while) then re-heated to be served. The way he treats his staff is also very poor , was on $10 a hour at 20 years old never got paid , also short paying people.
Do not go if hungary. Last saturday night turned up at 6.30pm to try indian in camden after long day visiting two seperate hospitalsin the west. I thought the day could finish a lot better but attending this venue it got worse.Ordered five meals and rice we did not think it would be that difficult clearly we were extremely wrong. After waiting two hours and only receiving nann bread we asked for meals and were told five minutes. Ten minutes later after seeing other table who arrived half an hour ago receive entree and then mains we told the young waitress we will cancel our order.The waitress apologized and charged us for our nann bread & beverages. We will stick to our south coast indianrestaurants as we are fully aware that the food is delicious and service is no problem. Its a shame Chola that explains why the other restaurants next door and across the road were fully booked!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT order from Chola. I placed an order online at 5:21pm, was advised a delivery time of 50mins. After two phone calls and at 7:07pm (1hour 48mins later) my food arrived barely warm and quite bland and tasteless. DO NOT bother with this restaurant, there are many other better quality restaurants in Camden.
No curry in a hurry!!!. We placed an order for delivery, paying up front by card, and was told it would take an hour. 1 and a half hours later we called asking for an update, and was told it would take another 20minutes and the delivery was on its way. 30minutes later we call again, and again are told that the driver has just left with our order and it will be 20 minutes. Another 30 minutes passes and our food is still not with us, so we call yet again, and yet again are told it will be 20 minutes and the driver was on his way. Having now waited 3 hours we call again and are told the manager is on his way with our delivery. Finally we get our order, with an offer of 20% off our NEXT order! The restaurant is only 5km away and after all of this the food turned up cold. Given that the manager delivered the food, there was very little he felt he could do for us in terms of apology, even refusing to refund our money when we attempted to refuse the 3 HOUR LATE, COLD order.
Really good food, great veggie options. This is the best Indian in Camden. I live in Canberra for uni and we have a lot of wonderful Indian restaurants around town. Chola is just as good if not better than my usuals back home. Every time Im in town I pop in for the great food. I whole heartedly recommend you try the Paneer butter masala its delicious!
