We celebrated dads birthday here the other week! They catered to a group of 14 and the staff where amazing! The staff Brough out complimentary spring rolls and chicken wings, surprisingly these spicy chicken wings were amazing! (Would purely come back just for them!) We ordered multiple chicken, lamb and pork dishes! Nothing special but was a satisfactory meal
Unlike a lot of other restaurants that come and go, it seems every suburb has its own House of Bamboo that have been around since….well he was a boy lets say :/. There’s something nostalgic about eating out at a restaurant that you went to when you were a kid with your own kids. Food here is good. Not much you can mess up with Chinese food I guess. The service is efficient if only a bit too. They even do live music on a Saturday which to be honest is not the best.
Having been to house of bamboo many times, it’s a great place for cheap local night out with the family. The portions are generous and the food never lets you down. The honey chicken and prawn cutlets are a must order, but to be honest, you can order just about anything and be super satisfied.
This is your typical Chinese restaurant. Decent price for a decent feed. If you want to step away from the usual lemon chicken and Mongolian lamb and try something different for dinner, I would recommend the Bird’s Nest Chicken.
