I ate here with some friends on a Saturday night. While my dining companions ordered food that looked incredible and they really enjoyed it, I had the wagyu beef burger and was very disappointed. The burger patty was the thinnest one I’ve ever had at a pub in Australia — it was comparable to what you’d receive at McDonalds and I was extremely surprised to see this on a $17 burger. I hope the kitchen can fix this problem… otherwise this was a nice, relaxed pub I would return to, but definitely would not order the burger again.

However, the service and speed with which your order comes out, even without many other patrons, are nothing to write home about. What was perhaps most shocking was the cleanliness and general feel of the place; the floors seemed sticky and the bar seemed as though it had experienced much.When all is said and done, Oscar’s Grill or at least Camperdown Hotel is an excellent watering hole.Revised 27 July 2015:We arrived for the Monday night special, ribs. While the ambience remains the same and you have your usual local drunks or creepers, food is not bad and the service was pretty good. The normal price of dishes is pretty expensive but the specials offer good value.
Been here 3-4 times. Food is ok, but service is absolute rubbish when coming for lunch especially during the weekend. TAKES FOREVER! Slowest cook ever. Staff aren’t friendly. Sitting here starving at the moment. Have been waiting 45mins and me and my bf are the only ones here. Chef doesn’t even look like he’s cooking. Not impressed. Last time coming here
Wide ranging menu, excellent quality. Go Monday nights for half priced pork ribs in an amazing smokey BBQ sauce. Love how the kitchen is open to the floor
Steak with mash is a winner. Plus they don’t charge for mushroom sauce, which is the Australian way. 5 stars
