This is one of my favourite sushi shops for freshly made sushi in Campsie! There’s always a lunch rush, and the cute design of it reminds me of tokyo and the tiny little restaurants where you walk in just to sit/stand at the bar eat your food and then rush for the shinkansen! Best for takeaway or a cute lunch date! lalaneats.wordpress.com

This place is a small nice cozy place with a variety of food excluding ramen as its prime focus is on sushi and udon. They have little trays on the table for every individual with a spoon, wooden chopsticks and tissue along with a sauce plate to dip soy sauce and wasabi etc. When you first come in, they give you a cup of hot tea and a nice small salad with a this delicious tasty sesame dressing. I normally do not have salad but this was very nice as an appetiser. They have a range of sushi rolls to choose from and i highly recommend the Special roll for $15 as it is very nice and delicious. It is an interesting sushi roll that has smoked salmon, fried soft shell crab and more. Additionally, there are plain udon sets with sushi or tempura for around $14-$15. The plain udon is decent with tempura fried potato chips as a topping which i find very interesting and unique. There is also rice such as Eel rice that comes with a miso soup. There is a lot of fancy sashimi boat sets which have different sizes. They also have takoyaki, gyoza etc.

Great little place tucked away on a corner. Just started working in the area and came here after work. I was greeted with such friendly staff and the owner seemed to know everyone. Only a small venue but a great vibe and food. Ordered a few rolls, sashimi, and udon. Everything was great. The sashimi were fresh, rolls had a good balance of flavours and udon was perfect for a cold night.

Got recommended this little Sushi Bar by and friend and I was very surprised with the quality of food. Everything came out quick (maybe a little too quick) but the taste and I felt the quality was there. takoyaki were crispy, special sushi roll was amazing.

A solid little sushi bar tucked away right next to Campsie station. Cosy, and I mean cosy, seating and attentive and friendly service gives Dong Hae an edge over the glut of other Japanese offerings in the immediate surrounds. As to the food, it’s very fairly priced/bordering on a steal for quality and quantity that you receive. The menu is expansive so you will not be left wanting for anything.Come for the sashimi and takoyaki, stay (and return!) for the warm atmosphere.

I absolutely LOVE Dong Hae…. This tiny tiny Japanese Sushi Bar is an absolute gem! Even though it’s owned by koreans, it’s sooo good. The sushi is made fresh right in front of you. You can pretty much alter the sushi however you want, and the chefs are more than happy to do so for you. The owner is always so friendly and attentive. They have really cheap sushi udon sets. Limited menu and limited seating so not great for large groups.
