While looking for a quick feed, I stumbled on this place and gave it a go. Was really hoping for a win but disappointment was delivered to me in the form of a flavourless char kway teow. I hear their rice dishes might be the way to go but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be returning. Price okay, service fine.
Was intimidated at first as the restaurant sometimes looks empty even during peak meal hours. Decided to try it today anyway, as we usually like to buy from their bakery next door and the quality is always good. Glad we tried! Food was good, portion was generous and reasonably priced. Also provided free tea and soup during lunch time. They actually open at normal lunch and dinner time, unlike what’s published here so don’t be fooled. I think it’s comparable to Albee’s so give it a try!Oh only downside is it was too echoic inside and when staff talk it could be quite distracting. Maybe they should have some background music to warm up the ambiance.
I think this place has changed ownership (or it’s menu?) since the last review below. It has now turned into a Chinese/Malay place which opens for lunch and dinner. Will try to get a screen shot of the full menu when i visit next time.I keep coming back to this place for their fish head soup (served generously in a large bowl, with vermicelli and delicious tangy soup base). Best ever!Hainanese chicken rice in here is a little unique, i think they add turmeric in it for extra fragrance, kids love it. Just remember to ask the lady to heat up the chicken because they serve the chicken cold style otherwise. If you crave for something fried, naughty yet delish.. i suggest trying for their Kungbao chicken. Prices are very reasonable as well.PS: Their menu is hilarious to read. I had a screen shot of one of the typos. FIRED PRAWN… SHELTER STYLE?
I remember one early morning going to the airport leaving around 5am to notice that this place was open! This places closes in the afternoon Food wise it’s averageThe rice noodles look like a mess on the plate My crunchy noodle combination, though looking huge was a lot of sauce and noodles Same with my partners rice noodles combination. The place inside is very plain Price wise it’s cheap ish Would come here only if I was hungry and needed the big portions to fill me up
