I have been to Pho Hien many times and the food has been consistently decent. It’s nothing extraordinary but my boyfriend prefers it over the other restaurants in canley heights. For our most recent trip my boyfriend has ordered a pho dac biet, baby duck egg and a soda egg. I had a crab meat and asparagus soup and crispy chicken with tomato rice. It was the first time I ordered a soup from here and I probably won’t order it again.

Had a dead cockroach in my coconut juice. When I reported it they snatched the glass off me before anyone could see and weren’t apologetic at all! Dirty food with dirty staff.

As a regular customer I can say thy pho hien is:Family friendly, easy to read menu with pictures, prices are cheap and always a generous portion. Staff have always been friendly and also are happy to do split bills. Service is generally pretty quick and they are always ready to cater for large groups of people. Bathroom cleanliness is abit of a concern. Maybe wait until you get home or use one before you get there otherwise a great experience there every time.

My friend really likes their noodles but to me the restaurant seemed very untidy and not clean. It’s still quite popular so i guess just try it and see for yourself.

Been to Pho Hien here and there and I can say there is always an inconsistency in the food everytime – some days the pho broth are more richer and other days the meat will have too many fatty pieces on it! It is usually the peak hour time where you walk into Pho Hien and majority of the tables are filled with dirty plates and cups that were left from previous customers. This means that the tea on the table are also empty and so is the cutlery and satay sauce. On the bright side, the service is quick in terms of the food coming out and the price is reasonable $13 for a large pho special.

  • Picturesque Food

On a hot summer day we decided to walk down Canley vale road and eat at the first restaurant that had air conditioning. Surprisingly, it did take a while but we ended up at Pho Hien. Prices at Pho Hien are standard for a Vietnamese restaurant. Tonight we ordered the marinated chicken with rice, congee with steamed chicken salad and a jackfruit, and lemon shake. The marinated chicken was quite tasty, although, a little too peppery. Jackfruit shake seemed a bit too diluted with water. The congee was standard. Chicken salad also not too bad. Overall, decent food for a decent price.

The beef pho here is above average in taste, but nothing wow, there’s definitely better pho in Cabramatta. The ‘mi quang’ is however, really disappointing! The soup is really tasteless, like so bland and the noodle is soggy too. It is definitely not authentic, nothing even similar to the mi quang in Da Nang, Vietnam. Nice coffee!Service without a smile.
