Arrived to a freezing cold restaurant. Didn’t plan on ordering BBQ (came for stew) but did to get warm. The only Korean dinner with the only side dish was given was kimchi (at least 5 or 6 dishes is a standard). For wraps they gave us iceberg lettuce instead of red leaf….very cheap. When we ordered a second helping of the lettuce wraps they actually charged us….again….never experienced that. Ride was old and hard. Service was okay and ambience was virtually bill. Over priced as well (cbd priced in Canterbury!) Do not recommend. Edible but too many better choices out there.
I love this place because they haven’t changed pass probably 20 years. It also feels like old school Korean bbq with their tinny tables and no attention to their deco. Price is also decent too, so if you’re wanting to try Korean bbq like the one’s you’ve seen in Korean dramas and movies I’d recommend this place.
Authentic low-key good old fashioned korean bbq! Dodgy decore, but good service and marinated meats. Very home cooked environment, almost feels like korea from a by-gone era. Be prepared for the eating around the barrels. Hidden gem.
One of my all time favourite KBBQ places. It has a very cosy atmosphere as it is a family-run business. They offer one free egg soup and can I just say it is one of the best egg soups I’ve ever had. Of course one is not enough so you’d have to order extra if you’re eating with other people! I brought my boyfriend here and he enjoyed it very much compared to his experiences at KBBQ buffets. Highly recommend you to try this place out!! The serving portions may seem small but don’t be deceived – it will really fill you up. I also think the prices here are reasonable. A must try if you want an authentic KBBQ experience.
I apologise for the repost, I got the location wrong A very nice and casual Korean BBQ restaurant. I am actually family friends with the owners of this place so I have been dining here for more than 10 years! I pretty much love the whole dining experience of this place. You get to sit around these barrel tables which is super awesome for socialising and you get to grill your meat on some nice Korean oak charcoal. It truly reminds of some of the old bbq places you will find in Seoul For the food, I highly recommend you to order the (marinated beef ribs) and (pork belly). Dip the meat in some Korean sesame oil or wrap them ssam style with some garlic, chillies and veggies! You must also order the (egg stew), (soon tofu stew), and the (bean stew) with steamed rice as these are of the best you will ever find in Sydney. The cooks have seriously mastered the recipes for these dishes
Walk past this restaurant most nights and am always enticed by the delicious aroma. After reading lots of split reviews raving or hating we decided to try it ourselves. So glad we did so because it was a great dining experience. Yes the service isn’t fantastic but that is simply because it’s a quiet family run place. I love that you get cook your own food and the free egg soup is to die for and I could have eaten the whole bowl myself! If you can’t get in the front door, head round the back and go down the alley. Definitely check this place out!
Here we go… Raw garlic cloves, salad, kimchi, sauces, coal, and of course the free egg soup that is touted as the best in Sydney. We got marinated beef ribs, chilli calamari and chicken to BBQ. I’m not usually a fan of non-buffet kbbqs because I really have to watch what I eat so as not to rack up a huge bill, but I was sick that day so didn’t have much of an appetite anyway. Free egg soup. So good. It was fluffy and slurpy and custardy and perfectly flavoured. So delicious we ordered another one! (You do have to pay for the next one). Could happily eat this with just rice.Spicy silken tofu soup was also so yummy and it didn’t irritate my sore throat – win.Tip: Park in the Aldi carpark and it’s a few steps away. Carpark closes at 10 so don’t get locked in!All in all a good kbbq, and the free egg soup really entices, but not all you can eat always deters me, but that’s just a personal preference.
