Ordered fried tofu and squid. They ‘squid’ tasted like the real thing to me. Pretty amazed at the texture they managed to get to the real thing (or better!). The batter was a thick type, like the ones you’d get at fish and chip shops. Braised eggplant with mince was our second dish, this was a lighter version and still tasty. Lots of eggplant with no skin and sprinkles of the meat. There was enough leftovers for a second meal, portions are generous and the waitress is efficient in cleaning up plates and giving us the biscuits and orange slices.Restaurant was busy, so that’s a good indication. Avoid Jane’s Kitchen (since new ownership) and come here.
Calm and comfortable atmosphere. You will be able to find the same texture and taste of meat and seafood in the vegetarian dishes. It makes the experience fun and exciting!
Delicious food ,good service and tidy environment make me very happy.Diversity of tastes make veggie vivid, yum to die and the yumcha tastes good, thanks a lot.
This Chinese vegetarian restaurant manage to capture the niche market in the area. Seemed to be a popular one for vegetarians. They do a variety of dishes. Some of them are pretty good, but then to be a bit pricy. Four of us went for dinner, ordered three dishes and we ended up paying around $20 something per person.
Great vegetarian restaurant only thing is that the prices were a bit excessive portions are quite big though. Overall great restaurant with free parking next to it!
The menu has changed quite a bit from the one here also with an increase in prices. So easy for parking because it’s right next to a free car park with plenty of space, very convenient. The staff speak very little English with one lady speaking none? Most customers were Chinese anyway so I suppose anyone who doesn’t speak the language will be served by the lady who understands the basics. With these mock meat places I actually don’t mind too much if they don’t taste like the actual meat, as long as it is tasty. Even better if it tastes good and is similar to the real thing though! The veggie duck pancakes (2 for $7) is probably not something I would get again. Tastes nothing like duck but it wasn’t that tasty either. Very small so felt a little ripped off for the price. The veggie roast pork with bean curd hot pot in xo sauce was a huge improvement. Much closer to the real thing but even if it wasn’t, still enjoyable because the sauce wasn’t overpowering and they give you a huge huge serving. I love xo sauce but in this instance was glad it wasn’t strong as it would have been far too salty with the rice which came shortly after. The fried rice was just the right amount and complemented the pork hot pot with its slight saltiness. It was nice on its own too but you may need another less salty dish so it doesn’t all get too much towards the end. They also give you oranges and cookies at the end for dessert. Free of charge! Always a plus. Overall it was enjoyable and I certainly wouldn’t mind going back to try other imitation meats.
I am continually impressed with this restaurant that serves vegetarian cuisine. In addition to all sorts of imitation meats (ie. chicken/pork/beef that is actually made from gluten/soy) it serves a healthy range of fresh vege dishes. The service is good and there is free parking within the complex.
