This review was based on our recent visit which was also our first time. The venue itself, in my opinion, needs to be revamped a bit as it looked old.We ordered Angus Beef Burger and Classic Surf and Turf. Both dishes were okay. Nothing remarkable. We asked for medium for the scotch fillet but it was cooked medium well.Coffee was great even though we ordered flat white and got cappuccino instead.
Good options on the menu. We came for lunch on Monday. They had lunch specials on weekdays and senior classic menu 7 days a week. There were other specials for example Monday nights all meals under $28 are $15 etc The two seniors who were dining with me ordered a fish and chips and chicken schnitzel, chips and gravy. I ordered the chicken schnitzel lunch special which appears to be identical on the menu except seniors get a discounted price. This is a bistro so you order and pay at the counter and you get a buzzer for your meal. I was told gravy does not come with the schnitzel and was charged extra for it. Fair enough….I have no problem paying for something if it doesn’t come with it and I wanted it.Went back to the table and looked at the menu and it was very clear that the girl at the counter made a mistake as gravy IS included in the meal. Went back and asked her and she was so rude!!! She told me it was only a couple of dollars in a sarcastic tone. That is not the point is it??? Whether it is $1 or $50, if you made a mistake, apologise and refund the money to the customer. That’s all. You don’t have to say anything else! And why should a customer pay extra for something that is already included in the meal?! Next were the meals. I would rate the meals very average. The fish tasted like the frozen variety and the schnitzel was oily on the outside, dry and tough inside. The meals were inconsistent. The seniors’ meals came with salad eventhough it wasn’t stated on the menu and my schnitzel had no salad and my meal looked like it was just thrown on the plate. I also got a garlic cream sauce instead of gravy because ‘apparently’ that was what I ordered! They finally changed it to gravy. By then I have lost my appetite from all the cumulated issues. This place is a thumbs down for me. That girl behind the cash register needs to improve her attitude.
I will be honest and say the food here is pretty good. However, I have been let down by the changes to the menu. My boyfriend and I came here every Thursday for the $15 deals. We loved the lamb cutlets, until they were taken off the menu. Now, the $15 deal does not extend to the huge portion of schnitzel. Beware.
Great menu and food. Been there the last 2 nights and the wife wont let me go for a third. Beautiful food, especially the 400g chicken schnitzels. Its not fine dining, but u get a good feed and the beer is cold enough too
Not fine dining but for what it is in the middle of an industrial/ business park/ it will do. The Parmi was ok no less than anywhere else in the pub world. The environment was cafeteria like but I didn’t have to battle traffic or parking. The hotel I had to stay in their meals were almost double the price so this was ok in a barren land of style and sophistication.
Poor. Food was well overcooked, greasy and the chips tasted stale. It was so noisy that we couldn’t have a conversation. Tables, although presented with menus on them, were grubby underneath the menus (hadn’t been wiped properly). Toilets were dirty and smelly. Dinner was expensive. We left half of it.
Won’t be back. The prices are quite expensive for pub food and it tastes like crap. No wonder there was nobody dining there when we went.
