Just recently opened, this venue offers Shanghai style Chinese food. Spacious seating area with two private rooms available (minimum $$ spend required).I came here for dinner with friends and had several dishes. Almost everything that I tried was delicious. Favourites: Shanghai turnip croissants, deep fried crispy chicken fillet, ma po tofu and pan fried pork buns. The mango pancake, however was not that amazing. Too much cream and not enough mango.
Food came out one by one at different times. However, the pan fried dumplings were a highlight. All food had great flavour and wasnt too oily. Service was a let down as many staff members just stood around waiting to be called over.
Finally, great Chinese food in Castle Towers! Been here a couple of times since its opened, and have been pleasantly satisfied each time. Dishes always come out hot and fresh, taste flavoursome, and portions are decent. In particular, love the sweet and sour barramundi ($26), chilli oil wontons ($12.80) and pan seared pork dumplings ($12.80). Stir fried rice cake and noodle dishes are great too.Always busy on Fri-Sun nights though, so would recommend coming early if you want to avoid a wait!
Food is quite nice and really not that expensive. The fish I would say taste a bit raw and has the very pungent fishy taste. The interior is quite big and pretty as well, and spacious too.
Taste of shanghai has offered good dumplings in the past, and the Lilong branch is no difference.Huge restaurant and plenty of seats, 4 of us didn’t have to wait long until we got a seat.I’m not entirely sure how the Lilong brand is different from the others, but the menu is quite similar. The dumplings are plump and affordable. The chilli chicken is nutty and gives a good spice. Xiaolongbao skin is a little too fragile though, but it’s soupy and delicious.Interestingly, they have a big list of cocktails with a Chinese twist. Was a weekday night, so we didn’t get too excited. We like the food here and will come here again.
